Suheldev Bharatiya Samaj Party (SBSP) chief Om Prakash Rajvar’s remarks to Mitra Samajwadi Party president Akhilesh Yadav on Sunday created a political stir as Rajvar accused Yadav of being disconnected from the ground reality as he spent most of his time in a “demon-controlled room”.
While advising Yadav to go out and meet more often, Rajvar said the “truth is bitter”.
“Akhilesh Yadav has become very accustomed to air-conditioned rooms,” Rajvar was quoted by PTI as saying, quoting his party workers.
Explaining his position after the remarks, Rajvar told PTI, “His (Akhilesh Yadav) party leaders complained that he did not meet anyone. He should go out more often in his constituency. ”
Noting that he did not say anything wrong, Rajvar told PTI, “Why should it be taken otherwise? Did I say something wrong? The truth is bitter. “
He said that even the leaders of Yadav’s party had requested him to advise the SP chief to go out and meet the people frequently.
“His people say that his ‘Navaratna’ did not allow him to form the government. “People were ready to vote for him but he was not ready to vote,” Rajavar told PTI.
Asked whether the SP would sever ties with the SBSP after his remarks about Yadav, Rajwar told PTI, “I have formed a team like my own (SBSP) and worked to the best of my ability. The person I need will come to me automatically. The Samajwadi Party has 111 MLAs in the 403-member UP Assembly, while its ally SBSP has six MLAs.
While refusing to tie the knot with the Congress, the Samajwadi Party formed alliances with regional parties like Suheldev Bharatiya Samaj Party (SBSP), Rashtriya Lok Dal, Janwadi Samajtantrik Dal and Mahan Dal ahead of the 2022 Uttar Pradesh Assembly elections.
